It’s still the best hunting experience you can get on console and even though theHunter: Call of the Wild has been around for a good few years already, fresh content has kept players interested. The latest option is possibly one of the greatest yet too, as theHunter players get the chance to go off and hunt on the shore of the Great Mississippi River with the Mississippi Acres Preserve.
Available to purchase, download and add into your theHunter: Call of the Wild base game right now is the latest new reserve for the game – the Mississippi Acres Preserve.
Priced at £5.59 and following on from a ton of other theHunter content packs, this is a pack which rolls out onto PC and console to expand the hunting horizons of many. With diverse biomes and beautiful landscapes, Mississippi Acres Preserve is home to some of the best hunting spots in the American South. Whether you’re hunting alligators on the shores of the great big winding Mississippi river, or exploring nearby fishing houses and smuggler camps, memorable adventures wait around every corner.
But it’s not just the river which is a draw and this latest addition also adds in a wide range of exciting new content, including unique new animal species, a versatile new bolt-action rifle, and new story missions. It’s a world that is inhabited by everything from skittish birds to large apex predators, including the American Alligator, the first reptile in the game as well as the first species that can traverse water and land.
Further, and found in man-made areas, the Common Raccoon can be seen diving in and out of trash cans, whilst the reserve is also home to Gray Fox, Northern Bobwhite Quail, Eastern Wild Turkey, Eastern Cottontail Rabbit, Feral Pig, Black Bear and Whitetail Deer.
There’s a new rifle for small game too – the Kullman .22: The Kullman .22 Hornet is the perfect bolt-action rifle for small game hunting. Chambered in .22 Hornet and lightweight, it’s an ideal weapon to bring with you on those long hunting trips.
There are also new story missions to get involved in and this cover a tale which focuses on how the Mississippi Acres Preserve has been left devastated by the worst flooding in a decade. Members of two local rival hunting clubs have chosen to form an uneasy alliance in an attempt to help the community get back on its feet, but things aren’t what they seem and when warden Immi Davis finds herself in the middle of a sinister conspiracy, things quickly take a turn for the worse.
