We’ve painted things up in de Blob, de Blob 2 and Splatoon previously, but today Eastasiasoft give players on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch the opportunity to inject a bit of colour into an otherwise grey world, with the release of Splash Cars.
Attaching paint to the fastest of vehicles, before sending them around, leaving trails in their wake seems to be a bit of a no-brainer. And it’s that which you’ll be doing should you action a purchase and download of Splash Cars.
Available today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (optimised for the next-gen), PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, Splash Cars looks to take what has previously been possible in the likes of deBlob and Splatoon, but throws in some vehicular based mayhem for good measure.
Priced at £5.79 and created by Paper Bunker, it’s with the Eastasiasoft team (previously behind Beat Souls, El Gancho and more) that Splash Cars is able to make an impact. It throws you into a drag, grey, neighbourhood as you are dropped behind the wheel of some of the fastest cars in the land – with each of those equipped with bucketloads of paint.
It’s here where this paint spurts out, spread from your vehicle as you tear around the various neighbourhoods. Leaving brilliant trails and covering the land is the name of the game, something that you’ll be able to do alone, or with others. Making the most of power-ups will help, but ultimately your end goal is to turn these neighbourhoods into vibrant street scenes.
You’d do well to give the trailer for Splash Cars a little watch and then get over to the digital store of your choosing, grabbing a download as you go. The Xbox Store will sort out Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players, whilst Splash Cars is also on PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
