Jurassic World Evolution 2 Secret Species Pack adds new dinos

At some point we’d guess that Frontier will have filled Jurassic World Evolution 2 with so much content that there will be no room for any more. But we’re not at that point yet, and with that comes the addition of the new Jurassic World Evolution 2 Secret Species Pack.

It’s been more than two years since Jurassic World Evolution 2 first landed on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. And it’s still one of the very finest world builders out there; THE finest to focus on the land of the dinosaur.

More dinosaurs!

Much of the reason for that acclaim is found in the content that has kept it fresh. There have been a whole ton of new DLC packs hit that game over those years, building it out with new opportunities. Most importantly though, they’ve added a number of new dinos. It’s that which the Secret Species Pack deals with. And these ones are a bit special.

Becoming available on March 13th 2024, for players of Jurassic World Evolution 2 on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, the Secret Species Pack adds in four new dino variants, with the spiny nature front and centre.

What’s included in the Jurassic World Evolution 2 Secret Species Pack

Pay up the asking price of £5.99/$7.99/€7.99 and you’ll find the Secret Species Pack adding all of the following into Jurassic World Evolution 2.

  • Spinoceratops – First introduced in season four of Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment, and DreamWorks Animation’s hit series on Netflix, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. This species is instantly recognisable from its impressive fin to its imposing horn; however, DNA analysis indicates that Spinoceratops is a predominantly peaceful species.
  • Stegoceratops – One of Dr. Henry Wu’s creations, first showcased in Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s 2015 film, Jurassic World on Dr. Wu’s computer. The Stegoceratops’ intimidating horns coupled with its spiked tail, neck, and back make this armoured species a formidable foe.
  • Ankylodocus – The largest bioengineered species. Ankylodocus boasts sharp spikes on its back and a clubbed tail for defence. This colossal species’ defensive capabilities are unrivalled.
  • Spinoraptor – A genetically modified predator. This species possesses the cunning and ferociousness of its component species: the Velociraptor and Spinosaurus. As a social creature, the Spinoraptor requires a small group to remain content within its habitat.

A free update for all

Further, the DLC also introduces stunning bioluminescent skins for the Indoraptor and Indominus rex. And then there’s also a small – free – update for all players dropping in too, bringing minor fixes and enhancements.

Check out the trailer below and hold tight for March 13th when the Secret Species Pack becomes available for Jurassic World Evolution 2.

Remember, you’ll need the base game. Grab an Xbox version of that from the Xbox Store now. It’s available through Game Pass if you would so prefer.
