Gastro Force is the latest from the Ratalaika Games team, as they continue their quest for world domination by filling our digital stores with some cracking little indie games.
Gastro Force is the latest, downloadable and playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S right now. It’s also on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch if you prefer.
The power of the Gastro Force
So what is Gastro Force? Well, it’s a first person shooter that has obviously been hugely inspired by old-school Doom titles, maybe even Quake. But where this one differs is in the premise. You see, you are the last member of the Gastro Force team, an elite trooper who has been highly trained.
Nothing different there you may think, but what if we tell you your training specialises in the infiltration of aliens, making your way to the gut, destroying them from the inside?
It’s here where Gastro Force on Xbox will look to excel. Thirty levels await, multiple weapons are present and some old-school shooting action should be taken in. There’s the chance to upgrade your weapons too, and to take on some big boss fights for good measure.

We’re not sure if Gastro Force on Xbox will have enough about it to challenge the inspirations, but for a low £6.99 price, it should well be worth a shot. No more so than if you are hot off the back of a Quake II play.
