lets build a zoo launch

Forget your shooters, your roguelikes, and your battle royales. Let’s Build a Zoo!

Releasing right now on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch (with the game coming day one to Game Pass), Let’s Build a Zoo lets you live out your wildest zookeeping dreams, giving you free reign over how you go about making the best zoo that guests from across the world flock to see.

At its core, Let’s Build a Zoo is a management sim of the most intricate level, with a multitude of stats and bars that allow you to oversee the health and welfare of more than 500 different animal species. Whilst it may be fun just to chuck a few monkeys and elephants into some enclosures, you also need to account for what your guests want – money makes the world go around, and red pandas ain’t cheap.

Spruce up the life of your pixelated creatures with a host of design options, from foliage to enclosure decorations, and also add in buildings and pathing to ensure the guests see each and every animal. You’ll also have to manage the selling of food and drink, micro-managing every last detail, from the price they sell for, to the level of seasoning in your coffees. Let’s Build a Zoo has just so many management opportunities, that it gives the likes of Planet Coaster a run for its money.

Perhaps the most interesting element of Let’s Build a Zoo is the DNA Splicing! In a move straight out of Jurassic Park, the game allows you to blend together two animals to create hybrids. The Chickow, Owlybara and Crocoduck are just three of the 300,000+ freakish mutations you can design.

Let’s Build a Zoo is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC. To pick up a copy on Xbox, all you need to do is head over to the Xbox Store, where the game costs £16.74. For £22.49, you can pick up the Dinosaur DLC bundle as well as the base game, if you fancy adding some more teeth to proceedings! Of course, running the Game Pass route is a more than viable option.

Our full review of Let’s Build a Zoo on Xbox Series X|S is up, live and ready for your perusal. Spoiler alert: we gave it the big 5/5. This is a must-player.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
