Loved Geometry Wars? You’ll adore the auto-shooting of Geometry Survivor

Many moons ago there was one game that all Xbox players sought – Geometry Wars. But as gaming moved on, new ideas came to the fore. It’s with that in which we get to Geometry Survivor as it launches on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.

Available to purchase, download and play right now on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC, Geometry Survivor is a roguelite auto-shooting survival affair. Think of this as a mix between Geometry Wars and Vampire Survivors and you won’t be far wrong. 

Created by those at Brain Seal, Geometry Survivor drops players into a neon-filled grid-world, requesting them to survive for some 20 minutes. Do so and they’ll be crowned a Geometry Survivor. Fail, and they’ll be tasked with utilising the funds collected in order to strengthen their resolve, ready to try again. 

A Geometry Survivor!

If you’ve played any of the plethora of ‘Survivors’ games in recent months and years, you’ll be right at home with Geometry Survivor. Similarly, if you’re looking for a more modern take on Geo Wars, you’ll be sorted too. Whichever, you’ll need to prepare yourself for some super intense gameplay, and plenty of grind. 

We’ve been playing Geometry Survivor for a little while already. We loved it, dropping a 4/5 review score onto the Xbox Series X|S version of the game. Our only real complaint surrounds longevity once a 20 minute run has been completed. 

“Geometry Survivor is a great hit for a few hours, as you embrace nostalgia, enjoy modern touches and go all-in with the intensity it brings. But the second you nail a victorious run, and gather up the Gamerscore offered, any desire to go back for further runs will disappear in a shower of neon and bullets.”

It’s all helped by the fact that the Xbox achievements and Gamerscore on offer are fairly simple to pick up too.
