Whether you have played Firewatch or not, there’s no debating that it’s one of those tales that excels; a must-player. Today that games makes a return to Game Pass, as Firewatch drops back onto the subscription service.Â
It’s a fairly quiet month for Game Pass, with just a few additions throughout August. In fact, we’re probably looking at more games leaving the service than arriving. But that doesn’t mean a Game Pass subscription shouldn’t be taken in – we’d go as far as to say that it is a neccessary piece of the Xbox eco-system.
With the arrival of Game Pass Core too, there’s really no reason that Xbox players shouldn’t find themselves playing some of the best games on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, for little cost.Â
It’s the constant rotation of the games in the Game Pass library which keeps it fresh though, especially when you see additions like Firewatch.
Firewatch is now on Game Pass
Having first launch on Xbox way back in 2016, Firewatch went down a storm. A single player adventure that has you navigating the wilds of Wyoming, in Firewatch you play as Henry. Henry is the fire lookout for this wilderness, climbing to the highest of heights in order to survey the lands around.Â
But it’s currently a hot summer, tinder dry. Henry is on edge. And there’s also something strange going on. With the aid of a small radio, Henry keeps in touch with his supervisor as he heads out on an adventure.
Firewatch is a game we adore. We reviewed it back in 2016, concluding our review with a line that sums up the game brilliantly…
“Find yourself a free afternoon, no distractions or spoilers, and experience Firewatch.”
With the arrival of Firewatch back into Game Pass, you’ve got no excuse. Go and grab a free download from the Xbox Store right now. Firewatch is playable on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
Next Up For Game Pass?
As mentioned, August is a fairly slow Game Pass month – I guess everyone is waiting for Starfield to drop in early September. But that doesn’t mean changes won’t be made to the game library.
On August 18th we welcome in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (although perhaps ‘welcome’ is the wrong word). From there, August 29th sees the introduction of Sea of Stars, whilst the usual leavers will drop out of the service on August 31st. They are Black Desert (Cloud and Console) , Commandos 3 – HD Remaster (Cloud, Console, and PC), Immortality (Cloud, Console, and PC) , Nuclear Throne (Cloud, Console, and PC), Surgeon Simulator 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) and Tinykin (Cloud, Console, and PC)Â
