Roguelike gameplay, the random generation of maps, a deep upgrading system, and a host of mining robots at war. What more do you want in a game? Well, Rush Rover on Xbox One, PS4, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch drops a super cheap asking price in for good measure.Â
Available right now as the latest Ratalaika Games port to make its way to Xbox One, PS4, PS Vita and Nintendo Switch, Rush Rover is a new top-down 2D shooter which comes with a whole host of ideas. For just £4.99, should you spend time downloading Rush Rover then you’ll discover a top-down affair that comes with the same ideas and systems as old-school, more traditional, SHMUPs.
Rush Rover tells of how a mining community has gone to war, as the robotic community attempts to stand rule over everything in its path. With you controlling a ‘clean’ mining bot, it’ll be up to you to grab as many weapons as you possibly can, and ensure the very survival of your type.
Premise-wise, Rush Rover is of pretty standard fare, but pushed along by a nifty little chiptune backing track, the fight for survival is a true one, as you work your way through the random map elements in order to go up against big bosses in fights to the death.
It may not have the initial visual appeal of previous Ratalaika Games titles like the adorable Milo’s Quest, but Rush Rover should still be able to deliver a fairly decent fighting experience. More info will be detailed in our upcoming review of Rush Rover on Xbox One, but for now, the Xbox Store, the PlayStation Store, or the Nintendo eShop will sort out your download.
Let us know if you decide to give it a blast.
