Ominous Tales - The Forsaken Isle
Ominous Tales – The Forsaken Isle is on Xbox

We’ve played a ton of point and click adventures and even more hidden object games. It makes Ominous Tales – The Forsaken Isle on Xbox pretty intriguing.

Mixing gameplay genres

Available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S is Ominous Tales – The Forsaken Isle. From the Joindots team, it whisks us off to a little island some thirty miles off the coast of England. It’s this place that is known as The Forsaken Isle. What on earth could go wrong?

Well, as we rock up, we find that a trading mogul has seen his daughter disappear, only to one day move back into town. But she’s seen much in her time away and is now on a bit of a mission of revenge.

We’re not expecting the narrative of Ominous Tales – The Forsaken Isle to be of the highest quality. But it’ll hopefully be in the point and click elements and Hidden Object mechanics in which this will excel. With multiple game modes promised, a blend of genres and plenty of collectibles to hunt down, it feels like the perfect game to snack on over the holiday period.

Key features

  • A modern blend between a point-and-click adventure and a hidden object game
  • 4 game modes
  • Numerous collectables fully integrated into the storyline
  • Wallpapers, concept art, and music tracks as extras

Playable on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (optimised), we’re not sure there’s too much of a reason to ignore this one. Let us know what you think though. The comments are below.

Ominous Tales – The Forsaken Isle on Xbox Game Description

There’s an island 30 miles off the coast of England that the locals call “The Forsaken Isle”. This once bustling port city is now said to be home to ghosts, necromancers and dangerous man-eating wolves? A trading mogul established his empire on the island only to have his daughter disappear in the forest one fateful day. Years later she’s back! A tormented soul wandering the island for eternity intent on wreaking her revenge on anyone who crosses her path. When you decided to hire a local boatman to take you to the island, you thought these were just legends. You end up on the island all alone and are soon proven wrong… You’ll need your wits to face the dark forces that surround you to stand a chance of escaping with your life.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
