MXGP 2021 kicks up the dust on Xbox, PlayStation and PC

Having first arrived on the gaming scene back in 2014, MXGP The Official Motocross Videogame as a franchise has slowly wormed its way into the subconscious of motocross fans. With the launch of MXGP 2021 though, Milestone Studios are pushing the limits once more, with the promise of a game that is so realistic you’ll be left confused as to whether or not it is actually a video game. 

At least that’s how MXGP 2021 is being sold – whether that’s how it plays out or not is still up for debate but you can be sure that we’ll be among the first to deliver the facts once our full review rolls out. 

Available to purchase and download right now, MXGP 2021 is the latest edition of the videogame franchise which covers the FIM Motocross World Championship. Present on the digital stores of Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC through Steam, MXGP 2021 pretty much follows on from those games which came before it (and our reviews of MXGP Pro, MXGP 2019 and MXGP 2020 are all here), just this time focusing on the latest and greatest championship. 

This means players ready to throw down the £49.99 asking price will find themselves given access to more than 40 riders from the latest season, along with all the official MXGP and MX2 bikes and teams. The usual tracks will also be in place, as will numerous sponsors and accessories. 

It’s the Career mode which will see all of these utilised, with transfer windows, contracts and challenges all a part of that mode. There is also a deep multiplayer scene as well though – one that promises improvements – whilst the Compound will let you hone your bike skills like never before. 

Throw in the Track Editor, a number of Legacy Tracks, a ton of customisation and more and MXGP 2021 – The Official Motocross Videogame should have pretty much everything you are looking for. 

In all, the key features include:

• CAREER – Strap on your helmet, hop onto your bike and go full throttle on your path to becoming a true MXGP champion. You can create your own team or choose to join an official one, starting from the MX2 category in the new career mode. Your career results will affect game progression, as well as the contracts you can sign with teams and sponsors.
• LOST IN REALITY – Everything is so realistic in MXGP 2021 that it’s easy to get confused. More than 40 riders, plus the official MXGP and MX2 2021 season bikes and teams. Sponsors, accessories and all the 2021 championship tracks. Plus three iconic tracks from past competitions: Ottobiano (Italy), Ernee (France) and Leon (Mexico). With MXGP 2021, you’ll feel like you’re riding your bike instead of watching in front of a screen!
• MAKE YOUR MARK ON THE FUN – Make your dreams come true, letting your imagination run wild with the track editor: choose the terrain type, build the track and customise every aspect of your dream track. Share your crazy achievements online and download the most exciting tracks created by other players.
