We’ve been keeping a little eye on the progress of My Time at Sandrock every since it hit PC Early Access some sixteen months back. A sequel to the much-loved My Time at Portia, this is an open world we cannot wait to visit. That wait will soon be over too, as a full V1.0 release of My Time at Sandrock has now been confirmed.Â
Ready for your time at Sandrock?
Coming from Focus and Pathea, My Time at Sandrock will launch for real on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on September 26th 2023. An update to the PS4 launch will be known later.
After spending more than a year in Early Access, the teams behind My Time at Sandrock have been able to hone things nicely. They’ve provided regular updates, dropped plenty of improvements, run big fixes, playtesting and more. New content has been arriving on a regular basis, as they hope to take what was great about My Time at Portia and expand it.
My Time at Sandrock will play as an engrossing post-apocalyptic open-worlder, one that is filled with deep RPG mechanics, plenty of quests and charismatic characters.
My Time at Sandrock will take you back to the fascinating world introduced in My Time at Portia, 330 years after the Day of Calamity destroyed most modern technologies. It’s here where your adventure starts, as you become the newest Builder in Sandrock, a wild and rugged city-state in the heart of the desert. Technology was once thriving, but the community is now on the brink of collapse and awaits you to restore it to its former glory.
Prove yourself as a resource gatherer
You’ll be left to gather resources to build machines with your trusty tools, grow relationships with locals, unlock new perks and abilities to improve your workflow, combat and other aspects of your life, and defend Sandrock from monsters – all while saving the town from economic ruin!
This will mean the exploration of the vast deserts surrounding the town, diving into ruins to dig for Old World relics, seek materials in hard-to-reach locations, or just relax. In My Time at Sandrock, you’ll get to experience a detailed story complete with hundreds of sidequests and over 40 all-new characters. Spend time getting to know the people of Sandrock, uncovering their backstories and making meaningful connections along the way.
Multiplayer will be included
The experience won’t run out of fun any time soon either – the 1.0 PC launch will bring with it a much anticipated multiplayer mode for free.
