In need of something heartwarming? Evergate on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC may well provide the smattering of love you are looking for.

Coming from PQube – they behind the recently confirmed Inertial Drift – and the development team at Stone Lantern Games, Evergate will launch later this year on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, bringing with it a heartwarming tale that covers life, death, space and time.

Running as a mythical 2D puzzle platformer, Evergate looks to be a rather expansive affair, allowing gamers the chance to work with a unique align-to-shoot mechanic, as you skillfully guide a child-like soul named Ki through a wonderful story of dreams, memories and reincarnation.

The latest trailer for Evergate, and the best place to understand more about Ki, is found right below, but with a number of open-ended puzzles included within, a world full of immense power promised, plenty of artifacts to hunt down and utilise, and a rather nifty audio and visual style to boot, Evergate could well be something pretty special. We’ve certainly got high hopes for it.

If you’re up for saving your kindred spirit and like the Ori and the Will of the Wisps vibe that it gives off – yep, you best read our review of that on the link – then keep an eye out for Evergate when it releases on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC later in 2020. We’ll be sure to let you know once it turns up and is available for purchase from the Xbox Store, the PlayStation Store, the Nintendo eShop and the usual PC offerings.

In the meantime hit up that trailer and then pop back here to let us know what you think of Evergate. The comments section is down below and you’ll find us rolling around on all the usual social channels.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
