Gotham Knights, the game that everyone wanted to slam until they actually realised it was pretty good, has today been enhanced – with some new game modes that allow both 2- and 4-players to hit the mean streets of Gotham together.Â
Gotham Knights from Warner Bros and DC released back in October on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, working single player and cooperative angles as players got to clean up the streets. For many, it was a game that tried to do too much without success, but for others – us included if you have read our review – it was something new, something fresh.
Now though the Gotham Knights are looking to go further, with two new game modes – Heroic Assault and Showdown. The best thing? Both are free to those who have a copy of the game.
So what do we have? Well, Heroic Assault is the new online co-op mode that allows players to team up in squads of four and venture into the depths below Gotham City to face off against enemies. You’ll find the chance to complete challenges across thirty action-packed floors and as seen in a newly revealed trailer below, the mode features a new threat who is at the source of the chaos – the highly advanced alien lifeform Starro, the Conqueror, as well as the formidable half-human/half-bat hybrid Man-Bat, who is under Starro’s control.
Alongside that, Showdown is a two-player online co-op mode where players can confront supercharged versions of the game’s main DC Super-Villains, including Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, Clayface and Talia al Ghul.
Should you be able to defeat these bosses in Showdown mode, then you will earn new legendary gear blueprints and unique suit and Batcycle colorways for every enemy overcome.
To get access to Heroic Assault, you’ll need to have reached Case File 05 in the main campaign. Showdown meanwhile unlocks as you defeat each boss in the main villain Case File.
If you don’t yet have a copy of Gotham Knights then you’ll find it on Xbox Series X|S from the Xbox Store. It’s also on PS5 and PC.
