Yep, it’s still alive and if Konami have their way eFootball will continue on regardless of the stick it gets. eFootball 2023 is the latest version of the game to hit the market, and it’s with that in which a new game mode and plethora of card packs is helping build out.
Konami have today confirmed that they have added a new ‘Friend Match’ mode to the console version of eFootball 2023, available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5, as well as on PC.
This has been added thanks to large swathes of the online community requesting the feature, ensuring that players can now use their Dream Teams, match with friends, and test their personalised squads and tactics against one another.
Further to that comes four new Club Packs and to help managers bolster their Dream Team squads, ready to take on their friends, eFootball 2023 sees the introduction of four new Club Packs from official partner clubs including FC Barcelona, Manchester United, FC Bayern Münich, and Arsenal.
Each pack will contain no less than eleven ‘Highlight’ cards, one for each position in the starting team. This brings forth a comprehensive package, balanced across positions to allow players to build a strong squad. You’ll find that these packs are useful as they can enhance even a veteran’s Dream Team options, or give a novice the ideal starting point from which to build theirs.
The version 2.1.0 update will also add in Manchester United and Portugal’s Bruno Fernandes as a new Premium Ambassador Pack. This pack will include an ‘Epic’ card version of Fernandes, recreating his stellar form from the 2020-21 season, one in which he contributed 45 direct goal involvements in just 58 competitive fixtures for Manchester United.
There’s more though and if you’re a United fan, you’re pretty much sorted as the pack will also include 10 ‘Highlight’ cards including players who have players for either Manchester United or the Portuguese national team, including cards for both Luke Shaw and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Of course, the Premium Ambassador Pack for fellow eFootball ambassador Trent Alexander-Arnold has already been released and is still available to purchase.
You’ll find eFootball 2023 available as a free-to-play title on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC. The Xbox Store will sort you out with an Xbox download.
Let us know if the new additions are enough to drag you back into the centre circle.
