Wargaming have today brought us yet another expansion to the War Stories campaign mode in the massively popular, free-to-play online team based shooter World of Tanks. Will you be gearing up to experience the Spoils of War?
Originally launching last August, War Stories added a narrative-driven PvE element to enable solo players and co-op enthusiasts to relive historical events, discover alternate histories and even experience fantastical stories through episodic gameplay. We’ve already seen four of these campaigns arrive exclusively on console, and now the fifth ambitious instalment has arrived for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4. That means there are over fifteen hours worth of gaming currently present courtesy of War Stores – without even factoring in the PvP side of World of Tanks which continues to go from strength to strength.
The “Spoils of War” story is told across three chapters from the perspective of an American, Soviet and German soldier, and visualised using animated comic strips. You can expect it to be an alternate look at history, imagine Philip K. Dick’s “The Man in the High Castle”, although here World War II never ended.
This content is available right now in World of Tanks via an update and should you be one of the few people not to give the game itself a blast, why not head over to the Microsoft Store and download it for free? You’ve got nothing to lose!
