Keep your ship together as Catastronauts gets set to blast on to console and PC

-

Co-ordination. Co-operation. Decisiveness. Three things that are essential should you wish to prevail with the multiplayer madness that is Catastronauts, and today we are getting a debut trailer and hands-on info.

Coming to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC later in 2018, Catastronauts is a colourful and chaotic interstellar party game for the whole family. Unveiled by Inertia Game Studio with a trailer, and confirmed for some hands-on time by EGX Rezzed attendees later this month, it promises much madness.

A fast-paced multiplayer action game, Catastronauts will see you becoming a member of the crew of intergalactic spacefarers, as you work together with friends to destroy an attacking enemy fleet, whilst frantically struggling to keep their own ship intact.

As hinted at earlier, co-ordination, co-operation and decisiveness are essential to victory, as multiple tasks will need to be taken care of across the vessel. You’ll need to decide who is going to fire the lasers, who will arm the torpedoes, who’ll be sent to repair a breach in the hull and extinguish that damned fire!

But in addition to the regular occupational hazards, each level found within will offer unique challenges and dangers to deal with, including that of solar flares and malfunctioning extraction doors. A whole host of unique mechanics will keep even the most experienced crew members on their toes.

“I’m extremely excited to reveal Catastronauts to the world. It’s our first console title and we struggle with keeping the noise down in the office when we play it.” said Kieran Newland, Lead Game Developer, Inertia Games Studios. “We’ve focused on making it super accessible while still keeping plenty of challenge and fun. We can’t wait to see how the public responds to it.”

If you’re visiting EGX Rezzed in the Tobacco Dock London from the 13th – 15th April, then Inertia Game Studios would love to see you, giving a chance to take in a bit of the game. Make sure you grab your friends and pop on by in order to enlist today. An entire galaxy of misadventure awaits!
