Halloween is over, Bonfire night has sizzled out, and now it’s time to get back to considering what to purchase from the healthy amount of new releases heading our way. Those with a penchant for speed will certainly be anticipating a good week, so here’s a look at the new games ‘In Stores This Week’ for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Sonic Forces – 7th November – Xbox One

The high speed, occasionally side-scrolling, action of everyone’s favourite hedgehog returns in Sonic Forces, a game in which Sonic needs help building an army in order to tackle the perilous Dr. Eggman and a mysterious villain named Infinite. Playing as Classic and Modern versions of Sonic, as well your own created character, you’ll need to navigate past dangerous platforms, explore iconic zones and fight back against the hordes of robot enemies. Forming a team of heroes is the only way you’re going to stop Dr. Eggman, Chaos, Metal Sonic and the rest of Infinite’s cronies. The world needs you!

Super Lucky’s Tale – 7th November – Xbox One

The always optimistic, rather energetic, loveable hero Lucky is on an important quest to help his sister rescue the Book of Ages from Jinx – a scheming and mysterious villain hell-bent on reshaping the world. This delightful platforming adventures sees you encountering a hilarious supporting cast of friends and foes, including the Kitty Litter, Jinx’s kids who aren’t quite adept at the whole villain role. Expect to have your platforming skills put to the test overcoming obstacle courses, whilst also having a bash of various carnival mini-games. The world is there to explore, with Lucky’s burrow move enabling you to delve deeper than most, as you take on a clear homage to the era of classic platformers in Super Lucky’s Tale.

Ben 10 – 10th November – Xbox One

You can always rely on Ben Tennyson to be ready to save the world from any potential threats, and with Zombozo, Queen Bee and more of his enemies lying in wait, it’s time to unleash the power of those alien forms. All ten of Ben’s alien transformations are unlockable across three new episodes, providing an exciting new story to discover which is jam-packed with humour and a load of the best characters from the show. Defeat enemies and solve puzzles by utilising the unique abilities of each alien form, deciding whether it’s the powerhouse that is Four Arms or the fire-based Heatblast that you need for the situation at hand. Make sure to save the day, to ensure Ben can head back out on the summer road trip with his sister and grandfather.

Need for Speed Payback – 10th November – Xbox One

Need for Speed Payback is set in the dark underbelly of Fortune Valley, with a tale of vengeance being the order of the day when racer Tyler enlists the help of his friends – ‘The Showman’ Mac and Jess ‘The Wheelman’ – to hit back against a nefarious cartel known as The House. Customise your rides, in terms of performance and aesthetics, and push them to their limits in high-speed police chases, head-to-head off-road races and much more in an open world environment featuring canyon, desert and city areas. From awesome set pieces to heists you’d expect to see in the Fast & Furious franchise, the action is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. They say The House always wins… but not this time!
