We’ve seen some crazy games in our time but there isn’t much that comes close to matching Manual Samuel for originality and craziness. But my god we can’t wait to play it and so today’s release date announcement is something to get hugely excited about.
Arriving on Xbox One and PC come 14th October, with a Playstation 4 release hitting home a few days earlier on the 11th Oct, Manual Samuel is a ridiculous adventure like no other.
Samuel’s life changes forever after being knocked over and killed, leaving him, and you, to live life through a ‘dexterity adventure’. You’ll have to help Samuel breath and carry out simple every day tasks in which the slapstick situations which are placed in front of him get ever more difficult. With you controlling his every movement, using the left and right sticks to walk, pressing to breath in and out, blink and more, you’ll find Samuel falling over, getting up and falling over again as he tried to impress both his girlfriend and boss…all whilst keeping Death happy.
The game challenges players to guide the titular hero through the worst 24 hours of his life, doing everything – everything – manually.
Samuel’s manual affliction paves the way for some truly hysterical moments. From taking a leak to driving a car, the game makes a marvel of the mundane. And as the game progresses, Samuel’s adventures become even more surreal, making this one of the most spectacularly silly games in a long, long time.
“Making this game has been a real joy,” says Ozan Drøsdal, Perfectly ParaNormal. “But spending almost three years animating bodily fluids can make anyone go crazy, so I’m super pleased we’re finally shipping this thing. I am proud of how stupid it is. I hope everyone loves it.”
Manual Samuel will stumble onto Xbox One, PS4 and PC with a £7.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 price point. Launch discounts will however apply so chances are you’ll be seeing that price come down a little.
Whatever it is though, we’re not sure Manual Samuel can be missed!
