GI JOE Operation blackout xbox

G.I. Joe is back as Operation Blackout is detailed and dated for Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC.

Based on Hasbro’s legendary franchise, G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout will be bursting into action when it drops onto Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC this October, with all-out warfare promising to kick off on October 13th 2020.

An all-original adventure that features the legendary fighter, G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout will give you the chance to play as your favourite heroes and villains from both Team Joe, and Team Cobra, as you are thrust on to an action packed adventure.

Working as a team based third person shooter that just so happens to run with a bit of split-screen cooperative action for good measure, G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC will see you travelling the globe, heading to locations like Cobra’s HQ and the U.S.S. Flagg as the original story plays out. Inspired by 80’s styled comics, there will be no less than 18 campaign missions included in G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout giving you the opportunity to work with iconic vehicles and take in the biggest boss battles as you see fit.

G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout will feature 12 playable characters, including Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Destro, Roadblock, Storm Shadow and more, with each soldier coming complete with their own unique powers. They can be customized too, with a variety of weapons and skins, whilst kicking around to complement the single player or local split-screen co-op will be multiplayer with modes such as Capture the Flag, Assault and King of the Hill.

Published by GameMill Entertainment and distributed in the EMEA by Maximum Games, if you’re looking for a bit of G.I. Joe action, then Operation Blackout will provide it.  We’ll remind you when that October 13th 2020 release date rolls around. But in the meantime, check out the trailer below. And let us know your thoughts by dropping in to the comments.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
