Ready to reinvent things with EA Sports FC 24?

A new era has been ushered in when it comes to football in video games. Gone are the licensed days of EA Sports FIFA, as FIFA 23 was the final instalment in the long-running series to adopt that moniker. You may be forgiven for thinking that, with EA Sports FC 24 on Xbox, PlayStation and PC, the series is entering into a lawless wasteland, however many will find a variety of home comforts within.

Ultra-Realism

Available now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC – provided you own the Ultimate Edition of the game – is EA FC 24. It promises more of the same gripping football gameplay as its predecessors have done for decades.

EA are particularly keen, this time around, to point towards the role of the Frostbite Engine and HyperMotionV. These have allowed them to seamlessly capture the unique movements of the world’s greatest players. Expect to see the iconic Erling Haaland stomp through defenses with his trademark run, and the game’s best defenders like Virgil Van Dijk punish heavy touches with ease.

It comes with over 19,000 fully licensed players (including an expansion to the women’s game). There are more than 30 leagues with over 700 teams to choose from too. And this means FC 24 is yet again shaping up to provide the definitive kickabout.

Modes, Modes, Modes in the new FIFA!

As well as the classic yearly additions to the Career Mode and Clubs, perhaps the biggest additions to FC 24 come in the Ultimate Team mode. For the first time ever, you’ll be able to add female players to your team. Coming up against the pacey Sam Kerr, being slotted through by Kevin De Bruyne, is a truly terrifying thought!

Ultimate Team also benefits from the new PlayStyles feature, which gives a number of players unique, powerful attributes. Combine this with the ability to level up your favourite cards through Ultimate Team Evolutions, and soon enough everyone will have a unique, custom-built team.

The Whistle Blows

EA Sports FC 24 is now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It’s also on PS5, PS4 and PC, if you own the Ultimate Edition. That will cost you £99.99 via the Xbox Store. But expect it to also provide you with a number of goodies for numerous modes.

Alternatively, the Standard Edition releases on the 29th September, and currently costs £69.99 through the Xbox Store.

If you own EA Play, you can also benefit from a 10 hour free trial, starting now.
