In their seemingly endless quest to port over every single videogame ever to consoles, Ratalaika Games are back with another underrated retro classic. Cyber Citizen Shockman 2 is here!
Cyber Citizen Shockman may have only released a few months ago on consoles, but the sequel is here already. Out today on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, Cyber Citizen Shockman 2: A New Menace looks to continue the story.
Time to suit-up… again
If you can remember the first game, protagonists Arnold and Sonya were turned into Shubibinman, not entirely willingly. However, save the world they did, and now they are called up to do the same again.
The Doc that transformed them has been kidnapped by an alien invasion and must be saved from the Raio Empire.
This empire aren’t alone though in their plans to conquer the world. They may or may not have a couple of Shubibinman of their own. You’ve got a busy day ahead of you.
Up your arsenal
Cyber Citizen Shockman 2: A New Menace on Xbox has a brand-new battle system for the sequel.
Gone are the powerful energy swords, and replaced by ranged weapons. This will give you an upper hand against the 12 bosses you will encounter; instead of charging in with melee attacks, you can hopefully keep a bit of distance between you and your attackers now. Not too much space though, they still need defeating after all.
Shocking new key features of Cyber Citizen Shockman 2 on Xbox
Cyber Citizen Shockman 2 also features:
- Platform action shooting gameplay
- Co-op 2-player mode
- Battle huge bosses
- Different shader options to adjust how the game looks!
- Sequel to Cyber Citizen Shockman
Fun fact: the bosses you will face were all competition winners who submitted entries for designs. I wonder if their creations will be receiving any royalties in this latest port?
Cyber Citizen 2: A New Menace is on Xbox via the Xbox Store now priced at £5.99, with an early bird discount kicking things down to £4.79 for those eager to jump straight in.
You’ll find it playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, optimised for the latter consoles. It’s also on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
If you are waiting for our review, it is coming soon, so stay tuned. For everyone else, are you happy with Ratalaika Games porting over unknown classics, or would you prefer them to port over more modern games? Either way, let us know in the comments below.
