We first got a glimpse and hands-on opportunity with Troll and I back at EGX 2016. Today though we’ve got further details about the game, a new trailer and the all-important release date.
So, first things first, Troll and I will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC from March 21st 2017. That is at least if you live in North America as us Europeans will need to wait until the 24th March to get playing.
A full on mythical action adventure, Troll and I follows the tale of a young teenage boy, Otto and his unlikely friendship with a massive, mythical Troll. When a ruthless hunter rips through Otto’s homeland, searching for Troll and causing utter chaos and devastation throughout, Otto’s small Scandinavian village is destroyed. He finds himself alone and on the run from the evil forces that have pervaded his once peaceful land, but to his surprise, he locates and befriends the wanted beast who has taken refuge in a secret lair in the Nordic mountains. In doing so, a unique bond is formed and the friends find themselves on an epic and memorable adventure.
Troll and I will let players harness the ability to switch seamlessly between both Otto and Troll as the two outcasts struggle to survive. Together, they must fight, strategise and sneak through a dangerous wilderness with a band of hunters and deadly creatures on their trail. Troll and I features a combat system that allows contrasting abilities for each character: Troll and his highly damaging attacks can crush enemies in one blow while Otto incorporates more quick and nimble moves. Troll and Otto can also cohesively act as one to fight off rivals, solve puzzles and complete missions. Each employs their own distinct presence and gameplay functionality.
It promises to be a hugely effective cooperative split-screen multiplayer that will give two players the opportunity to create a captivating experience.
To roll alongside the release date, the development team at Spiral House and their publishers, Maximum Games have today also delivered a new trailer. You can see it below and it gives a lovely insight into what is to come.
