Return to the dungeons in Ziggurat 2

-

Ziggurat 2 Xbox

The original Ziggurat game took a lot of what was good about dungeon crawling and roguelites and applied them to a first-person shooter. It worked surprisingly well, so much so that a sequel has now arrived. Can seven years of polish make this an improvement? Find out as Ziggurat 2 launches on Xbox today.

Ziggurat 2 focusses on fast paced combat, so if you are familiar with the combat speed of DOOM you will feel right at home here. As you are rushing around the arenas flinging spells at enemies, it pays to keep several eyes on your surroundings. Mistakes are paid for dearly.

You cannot rely on learning the layouts either, as Ziggurat 2’s dungeons are all procedurally generated. This time around, there is more verticality in these dungeons, allow you and your enemies to get the drop on each other. Whilst they offer more on the y-axis, these rooms are more compact to make sure the action is even more in your face.

When not dungeon crawling, the Citadel is your home. Featuring old allies and new to recruit, here is where you can upgrade equipment and choose your next mission.

Completely redesigned from the ground up, Ziggurat 2 will look to improve on the original in every department. And it is available to download now priced at £18.49 on the Xbox Store. We will have a review coming real soon.

Game descriptionZiggurat is back, and now it’s even better! Use powerful weapons and spells to break through hordes of enemies and explore labyrinthine dungeons in this hectic roguelite FPS, while you improve your skills and discover new equipment. Will you be up to the task? Evil lurks in the depths As a member of the most powerful magic order, your task is to protect humanity from the forces of evil. Face hordes of enemies and fearsome Guardians in epic and dynamic combats. Keep an eye on elemental resistances and vulnerabilities to maximize your efficiency, and earn experience to level up and learn useful perks that will help you reach the end of the dungeon in one piece. First Person Shooting at its finest! Ziggurat 2 focuses on fast paced combat and constant movement, in which mistakes are paid dearly. You’ll need dexterity, reflexes and resource management skills to have a chance of survival against the dangers hiding in the shadows, and manage to come back safe and sound. No two plays are the same Following the line of its predecessor, in Ziggurat 2 dungeons are randomly generated, full of dangers and treasure for the bold wizards daring to enter them. Going a step further, dungeons now have more verticality and variety, and more compact rooms, for quicker fights and easier exploration. Back to the Citadel In the Citadel, home of the Brotherhood, you’ll be able to recruit new and old allies, as well as improve your equipment and skills, before deciding which mission to perform next. With dozens of unlockable weapons with different natures and behaviors, preparation before a mission is crucial and may be the difference between an overwhelming victory and the bitter taste of defeat. Improved formula Ziggurat 2 has been redesigned from the ground up with the goal of improving over the original in all areas, and offer an even smoother and faster experience, with quicker, more intense sessions, and more interactive and fulfilling progression.
