It was towards the tail-end of 2019 that the world was first introduced to Potata: fairy flower. This charming platformer, mixed in with puzzle elements and light combat, certainly interested us when it came to Xbox in May of 2020. However, there were major let-downs in the way of visuals and any form of innovation in the genre. Developers Potata Company and publishers Sometimes You are not giving up, however, and have now brought us an upgraded version of Potata: fairy flower on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.

A Fantastical Forest
You assume the role of a young witch destined to save her forest home from the clutches of evil. By platforming across the world, pulling levers and moving crates to manoeuvre about, you’ll eventually find out just how to save your home, and maybe do a bit of soul-searching in the process.
Throw in the promise of multiple puzzles, typically employing some jigsaw-like challenges, as well as some rudimentary melee combat, and what we have here is a fun entry into the platforming genre. Oh, and you’ll have to make your own platforms sometimes, by picking up planks across the world, and placing them in the right places. Potata: fairy flower on Xbox Series X|S and PS5 sounds alright, no?
Fight or Flight
Each combat encounter you run across in the world can also be avoided, if that’s more your style. Whilst the options are well and truly present for you to become the most fearsome swashbuckling witch in the forest, we won’t laugh and jeer if you choose to run away!
