Roll out with the free-to-play Roller Champions

It feels like an utter age since Ubisoft first detailed Roller Champions, their free-to-play 3v3 competitive multiplayer rollerthon that promises crossplay capabilities and a ton of esports promise. Finally though, it is here.

Available to download free of charge – for this is a totally free-to-play title – from the digital stores of Xbox, PlayStation and PC, Roller Champions now gives players the chance to strike a pose and hit the rink as players team up in hope of proving themselves in the online world.

A competitive multiplayer affair, your ‘goal’ in Roller Champions is to, well, score a goal or two, skating laps of the arena you find yourself in before throwing the all-important ball into a goal. As with most sports titles, do so more than your opposition and you’ll be crowned as the Roller Champions.

Of course, it’s not as easy as that and with your opponents attempting to tackle you at every given opportunity, navigating their attacks, dodging obstacles and showing your skills will all be required. A super-fast rolling experience, pulling off the required skills will be easier said then done.

Free-to-play means that it’s a bit of a no-brainer to not get involved, so make sure you go and download Roller Champions from your favoured digital store right now. We’re popping over to the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, grabbing the base game download whilst we are there.

You’d also do well to consider one of the plethora of add-on packs that have accompanied the release of Roller Champions. Ubisoft need to make a bit of cash with their games and they are doing this by offering up a host of ‘Wheels’. The in-game currency for Roller Champions, if you’re looking to get a leg up on your opponents, then grabbing any one of the many packs available will no doubt help – although how cosmetics really help anyone is up for debate.

There are all of the following available, ready to be added in to the base game, with each bringing something just a little different (depending on your cash outlay)…

  • 13000 Wheels – £79.99
  • 6000 Wheels – £39.99
  • 2875 Wheels – £19.99
  • 1050 Wheels – £7.99
  • 500 Wheels – £3.99

If you really like Roller Champions then it may be worth consideration of a purchase for either the Gold Bundle at £39.99 (6000 Wheels, Gold Body, Knight Glove) or the Silver Bundle for £19.99 (2875 Wheels, Destroyer Skates). Just be sure you realise that these Bundles are only available during the current season.

Should you be up for a roll around town and wish to skate to glory then sort yourself out with Roller Champions right now. We’ll be getting a review up and live asap.
