Marvelous Europe have today confirmed that Rune Factory 4 Special, the remastered High Definition game of the critically acclaimed RPG simulation title that was originally released onto the Nintendo 3DS, and STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town, a High Definition remake of the 2003 GameBoy Advance game Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, will make their debuts on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Europe and Australia later in 2021.
The release of both Rune Factory 4 Special and STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town will mark the first time that both franchises have been released onto Xbox One and PS4 platforms, as well as acting as a debut for Marvelous Europe Limited as a publisher on Xbox One.
About Rune Factory 4 Special: In this standalone story, players choose to play as a male or female hero and will encounter a diverse cast of potential suitors and other loveable townsfolk. As the newly-appointed prince or princess, royal duties are fulfilled by issuing orders to help the town prosper, or by taking a more relaxed approach to governance by raising crops and helping townsfolk. Should some dungeon adventuring be on the day’s itinerary, a vast array of weapons along with magic can be crafted or bought for battle against dangerous foes—companions or friendly monsters can also join to aid the player during their travels.
Originally released on Nintendo Switch in February 2020, Rune Factory 4 Special saw the fan-favourite Nintendo 3DS title remastered with updated visuals and an enhanced user interface combined with new additions such as a more challenging ‘hell’ difficulty mode, a new newlywed mode, and dual-audio language support with updated text localisation support for French and German languages. This PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release of Rune Factory 4 Special will feature all of the gameplay elements found in the original Nintendo Switch release, including both English and Japanese audio languages, as well as text localisation in English, French and German.
About STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town: Originally released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town is a complete remake that will let series fans revisit the charming world of Mineral Town, while also introducing it to a new generation of farmers. In this peaceful setting, players will grow crops, take care of animals, and build relationships with villagers.
And then, originally released on Nintendo Switch in July 2020, STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town saw the iconic 2003 GameBoy Advance game Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town remade with modern-day visuals and expanded upon with improved controls and character engagement. The upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release of STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town will feature all of the gameplay elements found in the original Nintendo Switch release, including text localisation in English, French, German and Spanish.
