Fancy a second chance at life? In order to get it you’ll have to join the world of Skully, a reanimated skull who is attempting to put a stop to a bitter war.

Announced by the publishing team at Modus Games, with full development works having been handled by those at Finish Line Games, Skully will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year, with a release date set for August 4th 2020.

An adventure platformer, Skull sees us dropped into the world of this reanimated skull who has been summoned forth by a local deity desperate for peace among his kin. It’ll be up to you and Skully to work with multiple skills, sculpting new abilities from pools of magical clay found throughout the lush island he has washed up on.

The trailer that comes accompanying the announcement and release date of Skully for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC can be seen below, and in it you’ll discover just a few of the ways in which the headstrong hero’s clay-boosted forms can open up new areas of the unpredictable landscape.

“We fell in love with the story and the madcap mechanics behind it,” said Shane Bierwith, EVP of global marketing at Modus Games. Followed Christina Seelye, CEO of Modus: “To say this game is unique is an understatement.”

“We’re really excited to share Skully with the world,” said Daniel Posner, CEO of Finish Line Games. “We think a lot of people will connect with the game, and its heroic journey of a seemingly unimposing character destined to accomplish great things.”

We’ll keep you updated with any further development news regarding Skully in the build up to launch in August. For now though, if you’re an Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch or PC players interested in what it brings, take in that trailer.
