Just looking at the screenshots for Speedway Racing and there is something building up in the back of my throat. No, nothing disgusting, more like a sound. And I think others can feel it too. Ready, altogether now: DAYTONA!! The nostalgia inducing Speedway Racing is out today on Xbox.
Speedway Racing is here to fill that Daytona USA shaped hole in your heart. Take control of cars capable of over 200 miles per hour and fling them around oval-shaped racetracks against up to 20 rivals. Maybe you too can utilise the recent exploit that NASCAR have just banned or driving against the railings for increased slingshot speed?
Whilst Speedway Racing doesn’t have any online multiplayer functionality, there are online leaderboards to compare yourself against other racers and friends across the world. So never take your foot off the pedal, the whole world is watching after all.
Speedway Racing also features:
- Arcade driving.
- 4-Player multiplayer.
- Online ranking.
- Rock music.
Rock music. Count me in.
With several games trying to tap into that arcade racer feeling such as Hotshot Racing, Slipstream and Pure Chase 80’s to name but a few, can Speedway Racing compete with the latest iterations? Our review will have all the answers very soon.
If you can’t wait that long though, Speedway Racing is on the Xbox Store now priced at £7.99. Get into the slipstream though and you can get it even cheaper at £6.39, providing you are quick, that discount isn’t sticking around for long. Regardless of what you choose, let us know in the comments below your thoughts on Speedway Racing.
