Punch em out in Thunder Ray on Xbox

Harking back to the days of Super Punch-Out, Thunder Ray asks you to step into the ring. The question is, will you be doing so on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC?

Available right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, with a PC drop coming soon, is Thunder Ray – the ultimate arcade styled boxer.

The ultimate boxer

From those at Purple Tree, just one look at the screens or trailers for Thunder Ray will usher up the greatest of memories, taking you way back to the glory days of the boxing scene. It’s an adrenaline-fuelled, retro boxer that awaits – one that makes the most of a modern day twist.

Priced at £12.49 from the Xbox Store, in Thunder Ray you’ll be pulling off left-right swipes, jabs and the most powerful of uppercuts. Punching opponents in the face is the name of the game, standing tall like Tyson Fury in the process.

This one is about as eccentric as that guy too, full of lovingly created animations, detail and movement. You can be sure that in Thunder Ray, each and every punch will land; hitting hard.

Buy Thunder Ray on Xbox now

We’re looking forward to seeing if this one can deliver the knockout blows that we are expecting. Stay tuned for our full review in the days ahead, but for now you can head to the Xbox Store and pick up a download of Thunder Ray for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

You’ll also find Thunder Ray on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and – soon – on PC.

But will Thunder Ray have enough about it to be seen as one of the best boxing games?

Game Description

Step into the ring and experience the adrenaline-pumping action of our retro arcade boxing game, but with a modern twist! Get ready to throw jabs, hooks, and uppercuts as you face off against a roster of colorful and eccentric opponents. The game features meticulously crafted HD animations, bringing each character to life with stunning detail and fluid movements.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
