Ready to start jumping, tilting and rolling? Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is coming to Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch – and today SEGA have revealed a first look at the gameplay.
As previously confirmed, launching on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on October 29th 2019, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD promises to revitalise this classic title with updated visuals that do away with the old look, ramping the visual quality right up to 1080p at 60fps. Alongside that, optimised controls will be in place for each platform, with the motion controlled options from the original Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz having been removed in favour of tightened stick-based controls. Expect to therefore find it an utter breeze to jump in and start rolling through the game’s 100 levels.
Drop in some online leaderboards which are a first for the series, and there is all manner of reason to head into Banana Blitz HD, as the single player Time Attack is also accompanied by an all-new Mini Game Decathlon Score Attack Mode.
To celebrate the launch date, not only have the physical pre-orders started running at all major retailers – all physical editions come with sticker sheets featuring AiAi and friends – but the latest trailer to come out of the SEGA shed gives us a very first look at the newly improved gameplay and graphics. No matter whether you played Monkey Ball back in the day and are just looking forward to the remade Banana Blitz, or are coming in fresh to the world of the ape, you should well find it an appealing little watch.
Make sure you check it out below and then hold tight for October 29th to roll around. As always, let us know what you think of SEGA returning the Monkey Ball vibe by posting in the comments down below.
