Tails of Iron Bright Fir Forest is here

It’s been a couple of years since we took in the stupendous Soulslike action of Tails of Iron. But Odd Bug Studio and United Label are not done with their critically acclaimed adventure RPG. Nope, for today comes an all-new, totally free expansion – Bright Fir Forest.

A new free expansion

Available today for fans of Tails of Iron to get involved in, the Bright Fir Forest expansion is set just after the events of the base campaign. It focuses on the Rat King Redgi. All as they are invited by the squirrels to partake in a little celebration, that of the Festival of Leaf Fall. The problem is, a revenge-seeking adversary is looking to ruin the fun.

Tails of Iron: Bright Fir Forest adds the new content any fan of the base game will want in their lives. It adds in some thirteen new quests. With those running as four story-based and nine running as sides. Each of which has its own boss to take on. It’s in here where Redgi will be found heading to the heart of Castle Drey.

Further, Bright Fir Forest chucks some new challengers at the Mole Arena, whilst players will have the opportunity to weild a greater choice of weapons and armour. With cosmetic upgrades too and new musical tracks, if you have the base game of Tails of Iron, there’s no reason to not get involved with Bright Fir Forest. Especially for free.

If you haven’t yet played the base game, check out our full review of Tails of Iron on Xbox. From there, hit up the Xbox Store and grab a download. You’ll be able to get playing on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, optimised. From there, the Bright Fir Forest expansion will be available for free.

Tails of Iron is also on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
