A couple of new features for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon?

It’s safe to say that there isn’t too much to hate on with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. But apparently the community have been shouting hard about the introduction of some ranked matches. Seems like the powers that be have listened.

A new update for Armored Core Vi

Available today as a free update to Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is the highly requested Ranked Match PvP mode. After being awarded the Best Action Game of the year at The Game Awards it feels like perfect timing in terms of an introduction. Even more so since we gave it the big 5/5 review score.

The online battle simulator Nest now welcomes the Ranked Match mode. Players joining these ranked matches will be automatically paired with players of similar ranks and compete to climb up the ladder, from Unranked to S rank. Two different matchups are available: 1v1 and 3v3 for intense team battles, both with separate ranking ladders. Players will be able to show off their customised mechs and prove their efficiency in battle.

Further to that, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will also now show nameplates in matches.

To be recognisable online by other mercenaries, players now have access to different designs to personalise their nameplates. These will be displayed in custom matches and ranked matches. Nameplates can be purchased with Nest Points received from participating in Ranked Matches, or earned depending on the results of the Ranked Matches.

Get involved now

Rolling out for free today, there’s next to no chance you’ll want to ignore the new options available in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.

And if you haven’t yet played the game, get that fixed. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S from the Xbox Store. It’s also on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.

Let us know in the comments if the new nameplates of ranked match systems are of interest.
