You can now take A Short Hike on Game Pass

Game Pass is home to all manner of great experiences. We’re able to race with the best of them, we can take in huge adventures, and we can shoot, slash and score whenever the time calls. And now we can take A Short Hike with Game Pass too.

The Game Pass service, whether that be on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, through Cloud Gaming or on PC provides a vast array of cracking games. It’s a service that many rely on to get their gaming fix, allowing access to a host of games for one low monthly price. A price that is even lower should a year long subscription be taken.

But for Game Pass to continue in the vein it has, it’s the constant rotation of titles that is needed; games shifting in and out on a regular basis. On the back of seeing a number be added in recent times – games like Venba, Celeste and The Wandering Village – comes another addition. It literally is A Short Hike.

A Short Hike

A Short Hike first arrived on the Xbox scene at the back end of 2021. It’s a game that provided players with the opportunity to make their way through a mountainscape, hiking to the top, climbing with the best of them.

It was Hawk Peak Provincial Park which played host to this wonderful adventure. An adventure in which we went trail chasing and backpacking to the summit. We absolutely adored the journey.

In fact, we dropped a 4.5/5 review score onto A Short Hike on Xbox, talking about how the simple premise was a brilliant one. It was helped along by the relaxing world and opportunity to take in a rewarding experience. It helped that it played better than many games with much bigger plans…

“You know those cheap and cheerful games that play better than many Triple-A offerings? A Short Hike is one of those games. It’s an experience that will put a smile on your face and even though it’s not particularly lengthy, it’s one that comes across as the perfect length for the asking price.”

And now A Short Hike is on Game Pass, playable across console, PC and the Cloud. Grab a download from the Xbox Store. And if you don’t have a Game Pass subscription to hand, the £6.69 asking price is super tempting.

Next up on Game Pass?

With the arrival of a new month, August is looking fairly promising for Game Pass. We’ve got Broforce Forever arriving on August 8th and Airborne Kingdom a few days later on the 10th. For many, it’ll be August 15th that is the most exciting day. It’s then when we welcome in EVERSPACE 2, but say goodbye to a few others. Those being Death Stranding (PC), Edge of Eternity (Cloud, Console, and PC), Midnight Fight Express (Cloud, Console, and PC) and Total War: Warhammer III (PC)

We’re pretty sure that more Game Pass goodies will be following that.

For now though, let us know if you’ll be taking in A Short Hike on Game Pass. The comments are below these words.
