A Metroidvania action game full of super stylish moments and the opportunity to take to the skies, Vernal Edge looks to be something of sheer beauty – and it’s available to play right now on PC and console. 

Available to purchase, download and play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (fully optimised), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC, Vernal Edge has been put together by the Hello Penguin Team, picked up by PID Games for publishing rights after running a successful Kickstarter campaign. 

This is a game that has been inspired by the likes of Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry and more, as it combines Metroidvania elements with some seriously swish combat moments. Placing the player in the shoes of Vernal – a young woman looking for her estranged father – it’ll be the Kingdom of Haricot which is your playground, all as you navigate your way through a series of floating islands, in hope of unravelling secrets as you go. 

Priced at £19.74 from the Xbox Store – expect a similar pricing strategy to take hold on other formats – Vernal Edge looks to be a bit of a stunner, as you explore this fast-paced Metroidvania, making the most of the dynamic combat system and freely navigate the worlds that it holds within.
