We first heard of Wildcat Gun Machine a couple of months back, so intrigued by the ideas behind the bullet-hell dungeon crawler that we fast reached out to the solo developer behind it in order to discover more. Chunkybox Games were more than happy to oblige, but now it is they who are finally getting their claws out and releasing Wildcat Gun Machine on PC and console.
Available today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC (through Steam, GOG and Epic), Wildcat Gun Machine is a bullet-hell dungeon crawler in which you’ll be tasked with taking on the most disgusting of abominations, utilising a range of guns and a whole smattering of cat-power!
Chunkybox Games have been helped in the launch of Wildcat Gun Machine by the Daedalic Entertainment team, and that combination has seemingly worked wonders, throwing players into maze-like dungeons as they attempt to stay alive. It’s these dungeons which are full to the brim with truly disgusting and furocious enemies. You’ll have to battle through them in order to liberate giant mech robots from demonic elder gods in a story worthy of an H.P. Lovecraft tale.
In order to achieve this goal, players can choose from 40 different gun types – all perfect for riddling the spawns of hell with bullets – as well as super abilities born from character upgrades to match. The claws will be out here as Wildcat Gun Machine presents itself as a classical bullet-hell boss battle experience with a twist: instead of randomizing enemy encounters, they are specifically designed to provide difficult combat puzzles.
The key features you’ll want to worry about with Wlidcat Gun Machine include:
- Bullet Hell shooter
- Over 40 gun types
- Epic set-piece boss battles
- Skill upgrades to suit your playstyle
- Unique 2D art style
Whether it’s the bullet-hell, the dungeon crawling or the arsenal of weapons that are drawing you in, you’ll find Wildcat Gun Machine available to download from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS5 or the Nintendo eShop for those on Switch. It’s on PC too – Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store. There’s really little excuse to not be playing.
