It’s been six months or so since we first heard that the Fur-ious Bullet Hell madness of Wildcat Gun Machine would be coming to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC. Today though, the claws are out, sharpening themselves for a full release date reveal.

Wildcat Gun Machine will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC (through Steam, Epic and GOG) come May 4th 2022. The question is – are you ready for a trip to hell?

Coming from the Daedalic Entertainment (Edna & Harvey, Deponia) and Chunkybox Games teams, Wildcat Gun Machine promises to be a master class in cartoon violence, when it drops onto PC and console in May, as the bullet hell dungeon crawler rolls out and our trigger happy protagonist shows that they are not kittin’ around.

In Wildcat Gun Machine, players will face hordes of very non-cute flesh amalgamations with a whole arsenal of glorious gun-goodness, thrown into maze-like dungeons filled to the brim with truly disgusting and fur-ocious enemies in order to liberate giant mech robots from demonic elder gods.

Something that H.P. Lovecraft would be proud of, in order to achieve this goal, players can choose from forty different gun types – all perfect for riddling the spawns of hell with bullets – as well as super abilities born from character upgrades to match. This is certainly a game which is looking to present itself as a classical bullet hell boss battle experience, albeit one with a twist: instead of randomizing enemy encounters, they are specifically designed to provide difficult combat puzzles.

The key features you’ll want to know about include:

  • Bullet Hell shooter
  • Over 40 gun types
  • Epic set-piece boss battles
  • Skill upgrades to suit your playstyle
  • Unique 2D art style

You can add Wildcat Gun Machine to your Steam wishlist right now if that’s the format of your choice. Alternatively, hold tight until the May 4th release when the game will be fully playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

You’d probably do well to give the trailer below a watch too. and join the discord here. Assets can be found here.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
