The competitive logic puzzler Mind Maze captures the minds of Xbox, PlayStation and Switch players

Slowly but surely the underground indie titles that have flooded onto PC through Steam in recent years have been making their way over to console. The latest to join the line is that of Mind Maze as it brings some competitive logic puzzling to Xbox, PlayStation and Switch.

Available on Steam since back in 2017, Mind Maze has grabbed some Mostly Positive reviews since that time; albeit not many. With the move to console though and launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5 and PS Vita (Yep, VITA!) it’s now that we see the game really gain traction.

It’s priced at £4.19 which means it’s certainly cheap enough for a punt should you wish to take one. From there, it all sounds pretty nifty too. Sold as a competitive logic puzzler in which either the solo player can get on with alone, or multiple players can work a hotseat mode with up to 8 players in all, you’ll be tasked with building walls in order to create a labyrinth all in order to capture the cells found in the playing field.

Creating traps for your opponent is the key to success here and so full calculation of moves is something that should always be at the fore of your mine. But you’ll want to be a little sneaky too, sitting back and waiting for you opponent to make a mistake before jumping on it.

We’ll have a full review of Mind Maze on Xbox for you in the coming days but if you wish to grab a download for yourself head on over to the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, the PlayStation Store should PS4, PS5 or even Vita take your fancy, or even the Nintendo eShop for those Switch players.

Game Description:

Mind Maze is a competitive logic puzzle game where you try to capture territory on the board. Place walls, build a maze, and capture tiles. Don’t let any dead ends appear, or your opponent will capture them. Plan your moves in advance, develop a strategy, and set logic traps for your opponent. Get sneaky – force your opponent to make a mistake and cover the board with an unstoppable landslide that will carry you to victory. Play the solo campaign or compete with other players in hotseat mode.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
