More games leaving Game Pass

Been enjoying your favourite Xbox and PC games via the Game Pass subscription service? You may well find that from the end of today you’ll no longer be able to play through your addiction. See, the Game Pass mid-month cull continues today. As no less than 8 cracking games are removed from the subscription scheme.

A Game Pass cull

Game Pass players are extremely well used to seeing some of the finest games move in – and out – of the service. Today, as has been the case for every month prior to it, we see a number of games removed, only available for play if a cash purchase is had. It’s that mid-month turn around, and it never gets easier to say goodbye.

But goodbye we must, and so if you’ve been playing any of the following games, you’ll now have to find yourself opening the wallet and splashing out.

  • Coffee Talk (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Exapunks (PC)
  • Ghost Song (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Gungrave G.O.R.E (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Football Manager 2023 (PC)
  • Football Manager 2023 Console (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Lapin (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Townscaper (Cloud, Console, and PC)

What will you miss most?

It goes without saying that the loss of Football Manager 2023 Console (and the PC edition) is probably the least of our worries. Football Manager 2024 is here and that allows us the chance to shift over game saves from that which went before it. There should be no concerns that you are losing that addiction.

For us, it’s probably the removal of Coffee Talk that hits hardest. A game we have absolutely adored since first release, our review spoke extremely highly of it. Of course, we’ve got Coffee Talk 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly to tide us over, but we don’t think that is a patch on the original.

What else will we miss? We found Gungrave G.O.R.E to be a little disappointing and never reaching the heights we hoped, whilst our review of Townscaper spoke similar.

Of course, you may have differing views – let us know about them in the comments. They are right down below.

What’s next for Game Pass

Thankfully, as 8 games leave Game Pass, a few are set to arrive. The rest of November is fairly quiet in comparison to recent weeks. But we do have Persona 5 Tactica (stay tuned for our review), Rollerdrome and Dune: Spice Wars set to release in the next two weeks.

On the flip, come the end of November we’ll be here saying bye to another 7 games from Game Pass. All of Anvil, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Disc Room, Eastward and Grid will shift out to make some room.

We’ll keep the removal of Bad Company 2 secret from our Paul Renshaw. He’s going to be livid…
