It’s been a good twelve months for Awaken Realms Digital and their infinitely replayable, deckbuilding roguelike Tainted Grail: Conquest. After picking up some serious acclaim on PC, it’s that game which now tries its hand on Xbox and Game Pass.

Tainted Grail: Conquest currently sits on Metacritic with an 82 rating, after a PC launch in 2021 that went great guns. Now it’s time for that same game to hit console, as Awaken Realms Digital attempt to open up the market to a whole new world.

Priced at £16.74 or available for free through Xbox Game Pass, Tainted Grail: Conquest is playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as deckbuilding fans get a taste of what made the PC community sit up and listen. But it’s not just a game that is suitable for those deckbuilders; this has story-driven elements, roguelike moments and a whole host of RPG-styled gameplay to satisfy all manner of players.

Whatever your gaming genre of choice, Tainted Grail: Conquest will thrust you into the world of Avalon as you attempt to work out what has happened on the cursed isle. A land full of foes, with ever-changing maps and plenty of secret, delving deep into everything it can bring will be the only way you’ll find success.

You’ll be able to go as deep as you like in Tainted Grail: Conquest on Xbox by visiting the Xbox Store. The download you need can be actioned from there.

If you’re on the fence about this one, the fact that it’s playable through Game Pass should help, but make sure you stay tuned for our full review too – we’ll be sure to deliver our thoughts as soon as we can.

Game Description:

A unique, infinitely replayable, story-driven hybrid between a deck-building Roguelike and an RPG game. Explore the ever-changing maps, fight with deadly enemies, and learn what happened to the cursed island of Avalon.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
