Question: How often do Team17 miss a beat? Answer: Not very often at all. They may just have struck gold with Batora: Lost Haven too.

Batora: Lost Haven is the lates to come from the Team17 stable, as the indie champions team up with Stormind Games to send players off on an intergalactic, planetary action RPG. And we don’t think there’s a huge city crushing robot from another dimension in sight.

Batora: Lost Haven is a game that will take Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC players off on an adventure as they get the chance to take in and explore a range of alien planets, each one unique from the next, as they look to try and understand the complexities of morals and how lines are blurred between the right and the wrong.

Restoring the Lost Haven is the goal and you’ll do this by helping Batora’s hero – Avril – work through a whole series of missions, challenges, quests and more. Combat will come to the fore here, but Batora: Lost Haven is well set in the puzzle department too, with each and every decision you make forging out the path to your final mission.

There’s seemingly loads to love with this one. Branching storylines, multi-layered combat, a neat little switching mechanic, the chance to take in that interplanetary adventure and, best of all in ours eyes, the opportunity to get involved with something that just looks out of this world. Admit it, you can’t ignore that retro sci-fi art style.

In all, Batora: Lost Haven features include:

  • Action-packed interplanetary adventure: Join a fantastical journey across the universe to explore alien worlds, meet a variety of unique beings, and uncover the secrets of the galaxy
  • Unique polarity switching mechanic: Harness the dual powers of Sun and Moon to overcome rewarding environmental challenges and vanquish deadly enemies
  • Branching story with multiple endings: Your choices decide the fate of the universe and those who inhabit it. Consider your actions and forge your path in an epic, interplanetary tale from a Writers’ Guild award winner
  • Fast-paced, multi-layered combat: Leverage the power of mind and body in frenetic battles against fantastical creatures and unearthly foes
  • Intricate puzzle solving: Put your mind and body to the test to solve otherworldly challenges
  • Retro sci-fi art style: Explore colourful and diverse alien landscapes with hand-painted visuals inspired by 1950s retro science fiction

Keep an eye out for our full review of Batora: Lost Haven very soon. In the meantime you can grab the download of the game from the digital store of your choosing. The Xbox Store provides the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S game to your library for £19.99. It’s also on PlayStation and PC.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
