Mango Protocol are back with yet another instalment of their Psychotic Adventures series and this one brings together two familiar young girls hellbent on wreaking havoc. So, prepare to cause ultimate destruction as Colossus Down is out now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

You may recognise the protagonists of Colossus Down from Mango Protocol’s other games, MechaNika and Agatha Knife. Unlike those point-and-click adventures though, this latest offering looks to combine all sorts of genres into one experience. Colossus Down is best described as a smashing adventure – for one or two players locally – that mixes beat’em up, shoot’em up and platforming gameplay with a host of puzzles alongside a unique and twisted narrative.

The star of the show is a 7 year old girl, Nika, who’s just finished building a mecha of mass destruction to rid the world of everything she dislikes. Her invention, MechaNika, can slash, burn and electrocute anything and anyone that happens to get in her way. In addition to that, MechaNika has 4 special modules that Nika will be able to power up, thus unlocking new and potentially devastating attacks, like the dumbshredder, the electroblast, the pyrorain and the groundcracker.

While Nika could face the 18 levels alone, there’s an option to draft in Agatha, a sadistic girl with a penchant for butchering her animal friends to appease the Great Bleeding Pig, god of Carnivorism. Agatha and the almighty Pig God have their own set of basic and special skills, which are completely different from MechaNika’s. Expect to unleash the chopping tornado, the purifying herd, the scarlet vomit and the divine retribution.

Nika and Agatha will have to face tough decisions and their consequences throughout the adventure, which could align with their plan to change the world or present new unexpected goals. These decisions will affect the mission as you may get new rewards, face different enemies or even unlock one of four alternative endings.

Whether you’ve delved into the Psychotic Adventures before, it matters little, because Colossus Down can be enjoyed as a standalone perfectly well. All you need to do in order to seek and destroy is to visit the Xbox Store, where it’ll cost £14.99 for the privilege – snap it up within the first 24 hours for an extra 10% discount. Let us know if you’ll be causing devastation in the Colossus Down universe anytime soon via the comments section below.

Game Description:

Nika has just finished the first phase of her plan to destroy everything that isn’t cool: the construction of a combat mecha called MechaNika. There’s no time to lose, so join Nika, get your hands on MechaNika’s controls and demolish the entire planet. You have to put an end to history books, planned obsolescence, kitschy dresses, never-ending sagas of boring video games and pea soup. And if there’s someone in the world that hates vegetables more than Nika, it’s her friend Agatha, the insomniac butcher and prophetess of Carnivorism that loves animals and their succulent meat in equal measure. That’s why, when she learns of the objectives of Nika’s plan, she doesn’t hesitate to join the mission of destruction alongside the Great Bleeding Pig, god of Carnivorism, to subdue any grass-eating, non-believers that get in the way. But watch out, because along the way you’ll realise that Nika and Agatha are not the only ones that have a plan to change the world, and not everything’s as simple as it might have seemed at the start. You’ll have to make some tough and irreversible decisions to achieve your objectives, or renounce them.
