It was way back in 2008 when we first saw Codemasters deliver the excitement of GRID to the world. Coming hot out of the ashes of the TOCA series, Race Driver: GRID wowed the racing fans with a game that set the foundations for a full series of titles. Here and now though it’s the reboot that we are most interested in, and after seeing both GRID 2 and GRID: Autosport fail to really hammer home the interest levels, it’s time for Codies to go back to basics, at least with the name. Are you ready for GRID once more?

Available to purchase and download in Ultimate Edition form right now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC is the new GRID. Due to launch officially with the Standard Launch Edition (ÂŁ54.99) come October 11th, the Ultimate version of the game is the one you should be most excited to see, with a whole host of stunning bonus opportunities over the base game.

The most obvious of those is in the early access period that GRID Ultimate Edition owners will be privy to, with all who purchase the biggest and baddest edition given access to the game from today – 8th October.

And with GRID promising to deliver a racing experience like no other, if you’re a fan of the racing scene, then you won’t want to miss out. Pushing you thought a series of races in which each and evey one will allow you the chance to create your own path, GRID will deliver some of the most thrilling racing battles you’re ever likely to find. Whether you decide to run the GT route, or that of the Touring or Muscle cars matters little, for in GRID the adrenaline levels will constantly be high.

If you’re after a new racing experience and reckon you are ready for what GRID brings, then a purchase of that ÂŁ74.99 Ultimate Edition is certainly the way to go. See, not only do you get that Early Acess gameplay, but it’ll also deliver a whole host of other bonus goodies, likes new cars, cards, banners, liveries and a lovely VIP status.

Further to that though and you’ll also automagically find the latest Season content delivered as and when it drops, with 99 extra Career events hitting across 3 seasons, 12 new cars coming into play (4 per season) & even more seasonal rewards in the form of the following

  • • Season 1 (Hot Hatch Showdown)
  • • Season 2 (Track Day Supercars)
  • • Season 3 (Track Day Hypercars)

Our full review of GRID on Xbox One is fast approaching and will be with you in the next few days, but for now should you like what you are hearing, and wish to lump all-in with the GRID Ultimate Edition, then you’ll want to get over to your favoured digital store and grab a copy of the game on Xbox One, PS4 or PC.

Alternatively, you can also find it on Amazon. Obviously.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
