You’ve probably not heard of Big Moxi Games, but it is they who are looking to hit the big time with the launch of a new multiplayer hero shooter in 2024. That game? Wardens Rising on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.Â
A Brazilian-American indie dev, the debut game from Big Moxi Games will be that of Wardens Rising. It’s currently slated for release on Xbox, PlayStation and PC in 2024. But the studio are looking to show it off to the masses attending Gamescom in a few weeks.Â
A mix of genres
Sold as Diablo meets Overwatch meets League of Legends, Wardens Rising should well be able to combine a variety of styles. There’s the top-down hero shooting action on the table. There’s some base defence ideas and there’s the opportunity to go deep into online multiplayer, working cooperative play with four of your finest – or not so finest – friends.Â
The fate of humanity is at stake in Wardens Rising (yep, again!), and so it’ll be up to you to take it to the hordes of enemies, ripping apart bosses and stopping an interdimensional threat.
And in each battle you’ll get to lay waste to hundreds of enemies. They’ll be found traveling inexorably down paths leading to vital energy cores you must defend, making the most of a mix of unique hero abilities and a customizable loadout of technology. That latter lot includes a pet companion, cunning traps, walls, portals, and more.
Between battles, you’ll unlock and upgrade new technology to become powerful enough to defend more challenging maps and invasions, progressing through the regions and taking on invasion bosses.
Key Features of Wardens Rising on Xbox, PlayStation and PC include:Â
- Righteous Warrior: The fate of humanity is at stake. You’re the only one strong enough to take on the hordes of enemies. As a Warden hero, embark on a campaign to save humanity from an existential threat.
- Smart Defense is the Best Offense:Â Tactical, on-the-fly positioning and building are vital to achieving glory against the otherwise daunting waves of enemy attacks.
- Custom Tech Loadouts:Â Experiment with different combinations of technology to defend cores, including traps, towers, walls, portals, and more!
- Procedural Content:Â Try your hand at co-op missions which pit up to four players against a new invasion every time. Do you have what it takes to beat missions on Godlike difficulty?
We’ll keep you looped with how Big Moxi Games and Wardens Rising on Xbox, PlayStation and PC gears up. Expect it to be narrowed down to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in terms of console play.
You’ll find a Steam page ready and waiting if you fancy it.Â
