Warp with W.A.R.P. on Xbox

We hoped that by watching the trailer on the Xbox Store page, we’d begin to understand what W.A.R.P. stood for. We’re clueless, other than knowing that this is pretty much a game that does what it says on the tin.

W.A.R.P. from 7 Raven Studios and Totalconsole is a teeny tiny little game in which you are given full control of a little spaceship, left to traverse the galaxies around you. You’ll do this by thrusting like your life depends on it, all in hope of utilising a variety of wormholes to make it back to Earth, safe and sound.

Priced up at £4.19, W.A.R.P. works some inertia angles, as your ship skits this way and that, dodging obstacles, taking down foes, destroying anything that moves. In that regard you’ll need to be on-point with your shooting accuracy, especially as the trials and tribulations ramp up in difficulty.

Three different game modes are on offer in W.A.R.P. – those of Adventure, Landing and Survival (an arena-styled affair). With whole space-time continuum on your shoulders, you best not fail in any of them.

We’re not expecting too much from W.A.R.P. as it warps onto the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but with a low asking price attached, there could be a bit of fun involved. Stay tuned for our full review.

Game Description:

Your Starship is thrown at endless parsec of distance from the solar system ! Can you use the wormholes to come back to Earth in time to save the planet from a mysterious foes attack? Face inertia, acceleration and gravity in a challenge that requires pinpoint accuracy and cold blood. Use each weapon and even the space hazards to your advantage and face the most difficult trials. The destiny of space-time is on your shoulders. Three different modes: Adventure, Landing and Survival (Arena) for different challenges!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
