Thought you knew World of Tanks? Things are about to change as you will soon be given the chance to be your own hero in World of Tanks: Mercenaries.
Marking the next phase of the franchises’ evolution on Xbox and PS4, Mercenaries is the largest expansion to yet hit the game. Arriving on June 26th 2018, with Update 4.5 in tow, Mercenaries takes the game to a new reality, where history has changed and rules mean nothing. Endless wars have left the world fractured, and in the vacuum of power left by the destabilisation of global powers, soldiers and civilians are now fighting for themselves.
And that is where you come in as anyone can be their own hero, and World of Tanks: Mercenaries invites you to do so.
So what will be changing with World of Tanks: Mercenaries? Well, as you can probably imagine, a brand new Mercenaries ‘nation’ and a full tech tree of never-before-seen vehicles will be introduced to the game, giving players the chance to work towards a fascinating armada of powerful vehicles, helmed by unique Mercenary crews. These will be tailored to bring new traits and needs, and the vehicles are comprised of parts scavenged from those of different nations – brought together to create something truly original.
Five brand new vehicles will be available at launch, and the Mercenary nation will grow over the weeks and months to come.
But it’s not just new vehicles that Mercenaries brings and with it players will be introduced to the alternate reality via a thrilling new PvE story campaign: The Heist. An action-packed tale of espionage, nuclear tensions, and adrenaline-fueled tank battles, this adventure follows a motley crew of Mercenaries contracted to set up, execute, and escape from a raid on a secret facility. Their mission is to steal nuclear material for a client who harbours his own atomic ambitions, but the crew soon find themselves at the mercy of the combined powers of the United States and the Soviet Union.
You will be able to take on this tale alone, or can band together with a friend for co-operative online multiplayer action.
In addition to all that, Mercenaries will also reach out across the entire game, with the addition of new maps to Multiplayer battles. Expect to explore and fight through an array of fan-favourite maps ravaged by war and time, with original Mercenary vehicles available to battle with or against the game’s existing roster of over 680 vehicles.
