A double dose of Double Dragon hits Xbox

-

There are many Double Dragon games available in the gaming world, all of which will allow you the chance to prove yourself as the brawling beat ’em up champ you think  you are. Today a couple more options rolls out on Xbox, with the double dose of Double Dragon Advance and Super Double Dragon.

Available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles are both Double Dragon Advance and that of Super Double Dragon.

Now, you may have played these previously elsewhere, with them first appearing on the scene back in 1987 and 1992 respectively. But now they come to the most modern of Xbox systems.

Double Dragon Advance is the first we’ll focus on. Running at £5.35 this could be seen as the very pinnacle of the DD series and it comes ported to the Xbox world in style. With all the stages you could ever want, weapons aplenty and the opponents you remember from back in the day, if you’re up for a bit of side-scrolling brawler action, you’d do well to check it out.

  • Stages – Chinatown and Truck stages from Super Double Dragon Cavern stage from Double Dragon (NES) Custom version of the Fortress stage from Double Dragon II (NES)
  • Weapons – Flail from Double Dragon II (arcade) Nunchaku from Super Double Dragon
  • Enemies – The reanimated terror Burnov and Chinese staff expert Chin from Double Dragon II (arcade) The martial artist Steve from Super Double Dragon The Five Emperors stand in your way as bosses, inspired by the final boss of Double Dragon II (NES).
  • Moves – Explore an arsenal of new moves on top of the traditional arcade moveset, with the Pin Attack from Double Dragon (NES) as well as the Hyper Uppercut and High Jump Kick from Double Dragon II (NES).

And then we have Super Double Dragon too. Similarly priced (again, £5.35), this

is the game that first launches on the SNES back in the early 1990s. Coming with the opportunity to double the game speed, there are a whole host of key features included in this one, with the following present and correct…

  • Fend off enemy attacks with the Guard command
  • Build up the newly added Dragon Power gauge to unleash new moves
  • Take out enemies with the help of items such as sandbags and punching bags throughout the stage
  • Choosing Mode B turns on friendly fire

So, what are you waiting for? Get yourself over to the Xbox Store right now and pick up the Double Dragon game of your choice. The bold links above will sort you out.
