After 20 years of playing every game I can get my hands on, I can now be found selling my soul for anything Resident Evil, Gears of War, or Gamerscore related... all of which will be mastered after a good cuppa!
Should you be after a game that can provide hours of fun or even some engaging experiences with friends, then Tetsumo Party isn’t likely to be your go-to game. It has a nice idea and if done better - dare I say maybe even with Kinect from back in the day - we could have been looking at a very interesting game. Sadly, that’s not the case
For a yearly release based on one of the biggest racing franchises, NASCAR Heat 4 doesn’t quite do it justice and even though those wanting a functional racer will find enough to be going on with, there aren't many reasons to pick this over any other racer on the market.
When it comes to survival horror, the first thing that many will want to talk about are the classic titles that kicked it all off; the Resident Evil’s and the Silent Hill’s of this world. Of course, since that point, survival horror has come a long way, evolving a lot, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t people out there who appreciate the roots of where it all began. With DAYMARE: 1998, that’s what the focus is centred around.
It’s developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, it’s marking it’s 23rd anniversary, and it’s one of 2019’s biggest releases. It’s Ace Combat and if jets, explosions and photorealistic visuals are your thing, then chances are, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is your game. What’s more? - it’s out now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
With Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown upon us, it’s time to jump into the cockpit once more and soar through the clouds with the newest addition of this beloved series, but does it live up to those lofty expectations?
GET OVER HERE! That’s the first thing that comes to mind when thinking ahead to the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11, that is of course until the excitement at realising it’s only a few months away sets in and we realise that we’ll soon have hands on with one of the years most exciting games. Whilst that much is true for many people though, one thing is true for everyone, very little was known about Mortal Kombat 11 – until today!
For those who’ve been around since the dawn of Pong however, then there will be some titles that you may well remember fondly - before wondering where the hell they went. One that has had many anticipating its release since the announcement that it would be getting the remaster treatment is none other than classic 1991 platformer GODS. After hearing nothing but positives about the original adventure, I decided to take a step back in time to experience GODS Remastered in all that fresh updated glory.
Have you heard of StickType? No? Yeah I hadn’t either, but after sitting down and spending a good few hours pulling the last remaining hairs out of my head, enjoying myself profoundly and finding an ounce of complexity in a game designed with simplicity, I take my hat off to the one-man developer Michael Palotas for a job well done.
With EA generally dominating the sports market each year, it’s hard to think that anyone else would really feel comfortable stepping into the ring to compete, especially a small independent studio. However, the guys over at Unfinished Pixel - those of Spy Chameleon acclaim - look to have relished the challenge, and with the sport of volleyball rarely catered for in gaming, they’ve gone all out to release a memorable volleyball experience with their latest title, Super Volley Blast. But does it hold the quality to prove a sporting success?
Despite being an avid gamer in the late 1990s, the turn-based combat of Jagged Alliance was never something I found myself dipping into. After several hours of experiencing the punishing combat within the latest entry however, I quickly began to understand what all the fuss was about.
Hello Neighbor is back for more with Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek, but does this prequel adventure have what it takes to maintain the excitement set within the series foundation?
I’m going to get straight into it here. Godzilla meets Transformers with a hint of Tekken.
That’s what I was hoping for when I first saw, and then got hands on with, Override: Mech City Brawl. I expected something that could scratch the itch and reinvent the fun I used to have with the iconic brawler War of the Monsters back in the days of PS2.
Christmas may have come and gone in the blink of an eye, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t still got plenty to look forward to, and as 2019 creeps up on us, the reality of countless exciting new games is just around the corner. Before we start splashing the cash too early however, let’s first take a look at the Xbox One and Xbox 360 freebies on offer with the Xbox Live Games With Gold of January 2019. As we kick off the new year, just how good or bad are the titles nestled within our monthly subscription?
GTA is a sprawling metropolis when it comes to new content and each week sees the bustling world of GTA Online receive yet more new and exciting content, expanding the selection of activities within the city streets of San Andreas. Whilst the usual discounts and bonuses return this week, it’s a new game mode - Arena War - that will catch the eye of most players. If you’re still dabbling within a criminal empire in GTA Online, you’d be foolish not to check it out.
The arrival of Sudden Strike 4 European Battlefields Edition may have been expected to be the definitive experience of the game, but it seems developer Kite Games isn’t yet finished with the WW2 strategy title as another content pack has arrived to take players back into the depths of the war once more. This time though it’s a trip to Northern Africa that will see players fighting for victory, but just how good - or bad - is the latest DLC offering?
Racing is racing, and NASCAR racing has long had a huge fanbase across the United States and the rest of the world, so I decided to get behind the wheel of some performance stock cars to test the latest NASCAR title to come to Xbox One.
For gamers, this year has already brought us enough wallet-wiping adventures to last a life time, but there is always one thing that can make all those expenses feel a little easier – quality free games!
With that in mind, it’s time to dive into the latest Games With Gold titles that we’ll be receiving in December 2018 to see just how good or bad they are, and whilst they may not quite match up to last month’s incredible offerings on first glance, there is still plenty of fun to be had in the run up to Christmas with titles that are sure to surprise those who jump in.
