At first glance, this may seem to run similar vibes as to the brilliant Arcade Paradise, but King of the Arcade wants you to worry less about the washing and more about the playing, giving you upwards of forty games to play as you look to prove yourself as the saviour of the arcade.
It has you playing the role of Mac McCormick, a washed up old arcade veteran who has fallen on hard times. It’s up to him to use his skills as he heads into his local arcade and attempts to save it from being taken over by a ruthless gang. And there’s only one thing that can help – playing games.
And King of the Arcade certainly provides the game playing opportunities with a bit of everything included. There’s racing, there’s shoot ’em up action, air hockey, football, beat ’em ups, platformers and more, providing hours of unrelenting fun.
With retro vibes bringing it all together, a soundtrack to die for and as much arcade action as you could ever wish to find in one game, there’s a good chance that King of the Arcade could prove itself as a viable competitor to Arcade Paradise’s crown.
