It didn't take long for developers and publishers to understand that providing Xbox gamers with easy to grab achievements and Gamerscore was a surefire way of selling their game. Forget the quality, forget the premise, if a game comes to market that allows for some super quick, super easy Xbox Gamerscore, us players lap it up. We're sure there's more to the release of Peepaw's Farm on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S then just adding to our ever-increasing Gamerscore collection, but when something arrives at such a low price, and offers up a cool 1000G for a few minutes work, it's hard to ignore it.
As gamers we're well versed with the odd glitch or two. In fact, there are games that have become better known for their glitches, than the game itself - take a bow Cyberpunk 2077. But there are other games that positively embrace the glitch, utilising graphical and visual errors to bring depth to the gameplay. Step forward Paradox Error, a game in which you'll be tasked with surviving in a glitch-fuelled world.
Fury and Joshua may still be debating whether they are going to rock up into the ring, whilst Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather have just gained the big bucks for a what was essentially a playground tussle, but very soon boxing fans will be able to get hands on with their own virtual fighter as Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions gets set to throw the punches on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.

It’s fair to say that the first iteration of Chivalry - the uber-realistic medieval battle-sim by Torn Banner Studios - was a bit of a cult classic when it first released on PC way back in 2012. In the years since, it’s seen a release onto Xbox 360 and PS3, and then a version on the previous generation of consoles - the Xbox One and PS4. Now, however, it’s time for an entirely new outing for the series, and as Chivalry 2 is launching simultaneously on PC and console, the blood-soaked battlefield is as even as can be.
Ever since the arrival of the next-gen consoles in the form of Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and that PlayStation 5, numerous games have been updated, enhanced and then fully optimised for the power of the new hardware. The latest game to take that route is Descenders, yet not only is it now coming in super shiny form, but a full physical release joins the usual digital option.
When a game utilises the free-to-play route, you can be sure of one thing - at some point in time you'll be tempted in by some of the additional paid content. That is the case in point right now with the new Minion Masters Scat Infestation DLC.

Whenever a developer attempts to create a sim game with a zoo setting, it’s always going to make you think of and compare it to the pinnacle - Zoo Tycoon. That’s certainly the case for Springloaded and their upcoming zoo building management sim, Let’s Build a Zoo. To be fair though, there’s a bit of Jurassic World Evolution about it too as it features genetic aspects like DNA splicing. Having gained Beta access to an early build, I must say the future looks very promising for Let’s Build a Zoo. Especially if you’re interested in taking the more questionable roots to succeed in management.
If you are going to watch an animated film, it really has to be one of the Pixar ones, and the finest of those films that feature living automobiles is the Cars franchise. My son and I loved these films, and as you can imagine, the money making machine of the games industry wasn't slow to catch on to the possibilities of a Cars-based video game (or two or three or... ). So, come with me to a world that was dominated by the animated hi-jinks and the racing based fun times of Cars.
Mirror's Edge will likely never get a third try. The second game does not look like a cheap effort. By all accounts it is beautiful, especially with its FPS Boost enhancements. The city glows at nights and shines in the day. Lights will reflect off of Catalyst’s many structures made of glass. It’s spectacular to run through. But such a lavish production often comes with risk aversion and sadly Catalyst crumbles under this pressure. It’s held back by the pressure to conform, rather than trying to be genuinely different.
