Fury and Joshua may still be debating whether they are going to rock up into the ring, whilst Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather have just gained the big bucks for a what was essentially a playground tussle, but very soon boxing fans will be able to get hands on with their own virtual fighter as Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions gets set to throw the punches on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.
First announced back in 2020 for a Spring 2021 release, and coming from the trio of Koch Media, Survios, and MGM, Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions will launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam later in 2021, with a game that is based on the films from MGM’s Rocky and Creed franchise.
In Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions, players will get the opportunity to step into the ring as they train, fight and win like the legends, such as Adonis Creed and Rocky Balboa. A knockout arcade boxing experience set in the most renowned boxing film franchise of all time, Creed Champions will see you rise through the ranks in an intense arcade mode, honing your skills in classic Rocky training montages, and going head-to-head with friends in thrilling local competitive multiplayer.
“We’re thrilled to enter this new retail publishing partnership with Koch Media for our first traditional gaming experience with Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions,” said Seth Gerson, Chief Executive Officer of Survios. “Koch Media’s expertise in bringing incredible games to retail will further our studio’s mission to bring cross-reality games to more console and PC players around the world, making them a perfect partner for Survios and an iconic film franchise such as Rocky and Creed.”
Stephan Schmidt, Director Global Partner Publishing adds: “We at Koch Media are delighted to be able to work with a partner like Survios and to support them with our local publishing offices around the world entering global markets. Our global and local teams will collaborate closely to support in all marketing and publishing measures. It is always something special to be able to work with a well-known licensed IP and with Rocky and Creed this is clearly the case.”
Robert Marick, Executive Vice President, MGM Global Consumer Products & Experiences, said, “We’re thrilled to be working with Koch Media and Survios to bring the Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions game to console and PC platforms. Fans of the Rocky and Creed movies will jump into the ring and fight to be the champion in this fun boxing title.”
With the first Rocky film celebrating its 45th anniversary this year, the franchise continues to be hotter than ever, inspiring new generations of fans everywhere – and that will be where Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC comes in.
We’ll be sure to let you know once a fully confirmed release date is known.
When i saw the words “Rumble” & “Boxing” in the game title i automatically hoped it was Ready 2 Rumble Boxing from the Dreamcast days, unfortunately those dreams were shattered when no Afro Thunder or “big” Willy Johnson was anywhere to be seen. Such a shame.
Hope it’s more of a fun arcade type instead of a complicated sim.
